Hello! I was born and raised in Chattanooga. I attended Chattanooga State, UTK and Tennessee Tech University. In 2016, I graduated from TTU with my bachelors in elementary education. I completed my residency at Battle Academy, and this is my third year teaching at Bess T. Shepherd. I have previously taught 3rd grade, and now beginning a new adventure as a kindergarten teacher.

Both of my parents are teachers, along with many other members of my family. My family has played a significant role in inspiring my career in education. I enjoy coaching the 4th and 5th graders at our school though the Operation Get Active - Soccer program. When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading, traveling, kayaking, crocheting, singing, baking, napping and watching Netflix. My favorite animals are manatees, yes, the sea cow. I particularly enjoy any book or show with a historical basis.

Last summer, I was an instructor in a half day program preparing students entering kindergarten. This summer, I am thrilled to be a part of the Read to be Ready program at Bess T. Shepherd. This program will provide opportunities for students to grow as readers, as well as offering a greater knowledge of our city and the world around them through our theme of transportation.

Each year, I urge the kids in my class to not only be students but teachers as well. I want my students to see every day as a opportunity to learn something. I explain to them, they are my teacher as much as I am theirs. We all have experiences and knowledge to share with one another and should take every advantage to learn from others. My highest goal as a teacher is to inspire my students to be curious about the world, and therefore become life long learners.
